Projects
The Uxbridge Lions Club has worked on projects that benefit to the community and follow the causes as identified by Lions Clubs International.

Accessible Playground
With tremendous help from Uxbridge Town Council, its many community partners, the Rotary Club and Uxbridge residents, we were able to cut the ribbon to open the universal accessible playground for play in July, 2023.
Uxbridge & District Lions Club was awarded the Accessibility Award by Durham Region.

Adopt-A-Road
The Uxbridge Lions Club participates in an Adopt-A-Road Program as an initiative to keep the boulevards clean. We look after a portion of Toronto Street, from Concession 6 to Cemetery Road. It is through this program that the Uxbridge Lions Club continues their efforts to clean up the environment and make the community we live in a little cleaner each time.

Vision & Hearing Screening
Vision is one of the causes of Lions Clubs International and along with that is hearing. One of the ways the Uxbridge Lions Club helps to improve the health and well-being of our community’s young people is by offering free vision and hearing screenings for youths. The primary purpose of the hearing and vision screening program is to identify vision and hearing problems so that children can receive the care they need before their vision and hearing problems worsen. The vision and hearing screening program for kindergarten and grade one students is provided free and the expensive equipment used in the testing was purchased through the fund raising efforts of many local Lions clubs.
Our Lions volunteers are trained volunteers to evaluate each child's vision to check for common vision problems, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
The hearing screening program is comprised of a sound test. The child wears headphones and is asked, at increasingly lower audio levels, to point to various pictures.
